Gift Types

There are a variety of ways to make a gift to the Homewood Foundation

  • Cash, Check, or Credit Card
  • Electronic Funds Transfer (ETF): Pre-authorized transfers directly from your checking/savings account can be scheduled for a one-time transfer or a recurring transfer. Please contact the foundation to set up this type of gift.
  • Pledges: This method of gift enables you to give a larger investment with payments spread out over a period of months or years. Typically, reminder notices are sent as pledge payments are due. Pledge payments are tax-deductible as they are made.
  • Planned Gift: Can create income, reduce taxes, and allow a major gift through a bequest or other planned vehicle.
  • Stock Gift: Gifts of stock can support the Foundation and eliminate your capital gains tax burden.
  • Matching Gifts: Many businesses match employee giving, doubling the impact for Homewood.
  • In-Kind Gifts: Non-cash donations such as cars, approved equipment, and other physical items can be very useful to the Homewood Community. Before making an in-kind donation, please contact the Homewood Foundation to confirm there is a location for storage or if arrangements for sale can be made.
  • IRA Required Minimum Distribution: Gifting your RMD from your IRA will help you avoid all income tax requirements on the gifted funds.

Capital Campaigns

Homewood is constantly updating and improving our facilities to benefit our residents. The foundation takes on Capital Campaigns to help offset the expenses necessary to makes these improvements. Here is a look at what is going on right now at our campuses!

The Wellness Center Renovation Capital Campaign

Homewood Foundation is proud to partner with donors to fund an exciting Wellness Center Renovation Project. With a goal of raising $500,000 to $750,000, the campaign will see to the renovation of the aquatic center, locker rooms, and fitness and exercise areas. Plans also call for the addition of a new medical services area, which will allow for physicians and specialists to use our campus as a satellite office. This project will provide value to the Homewood resident family as well as the Martinsburg community, especially area seniors who are currently traveling to Altoona and other locales for services that will eventually be available right in Martinsburg within our renovated Wellness Center.
