Homewood Foundation's Annual Appeal

Homewood Annual Appeal

Dear Friend of Homewood,

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”

—Winston Churchill

I have thought of this statement often when considering what level of giving I intend to do each year.  God has blessed me immensely during my 21 years with Homewood.  I am so very thankful for the friendships that I have forged and for the relationships that were so important in helping me get acquainted and acclimated back in 1997.  These relationships were paramount in helping to build upon the amazing foundation established by our founding father, George Pearson back in 1932.

I can’t help but smile when thinking where this remarkable organization has come over the years.  We are 5 communities strong serving more than 2,100 seniors.  All while maintaining the highest standards as the premier non-profit senior living organization in the Mid-Atlantic region.  None of this would be possible without the support of the Homewood donor family.  Your support of Benevolent Care has ensured that we honor our promise to those residents living in Assisted Living/Personal Care and Skilled Nursing.  Because of this promise they know that no matter if they outlive their resources through no fault of their own; they will not be asked to leave Homewood.  What a blessing you help provide to so many with every gift you make.  I think of the relief you help provide and the tears of joy shed as residents and their families are comforted by this amazing assurance made possible because of your support.

I count it a pleasure to have partnered with so many of you in enhancing the lives of our Homewood family members through philanthropy.  Be it Benevolent Care, or adding a new Chapel/Cultural Arts Center, or enlarging the Resident Life Enrichment Endowment Fund (RLEEF), I find joy in knowing that this support has created a lasting impact on the lives of our neighbors and friends here at Homewood.

With my retirement scheduled for March of next year, this will be my final year end appeal request to you.  Over the years we have done amazing things because of the kindness and generosity of donors like you.  Would you please join me one last time by once again enriching the lives of those we serve? Please prayerfully consider supporting Benevolent Care and/or RLEEF which provides enhanced programing options for all levels of care within the Homewood family.  Your support will make a difference in the lives of our many residents.

Thank you for all you have done, for all you are doing and for all the amazing things you will continue to do for the Homewood family.  You will never be far from my heart and I thank God you have been such an important part of my life and the lives of all whom we serve.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may God bless each and every one of you.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Ernest W. Angell
