When long-time Executive Director Sandy Fair announced her retirement last year, there was a groundswell of support to find a way to properly honor her 31-plus years of service to Hanover residents.
It came as no surprise that board members, residents and staff past and present joined the campaign to name the healthcare center in Sandy’s honor.
“In light of Sandy’s nursing background and her years of devoted service to the residents of Homewood at Plum Creek, it was altogether fitting to name this the Sandra L. Fair Healthcare Center,” said Ernie Angell, Homewood CEO. “Her generous and caring spirit will forever be a part of this community.”
Homewood Senior Leadership and Board donated more than $250,000 toward RLEEF. A mini-campaign was put forward to raise a matching $250,000 by Plum Creek residents and staff. Since the campaign began, more than $270,000 has been raised with gifts still coming in. The $500,000 total in commitments toward RLEEF reached a recognition level allowing for the naming.
